He has a doctorate in business management and a higher diploma in health care management

Dr. Akella is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine. He has been in practice since 1998 and joined Orlando Internal Medicine in 2001. Dr. Akella trained in internal medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Akella is actively involved in local hospitals, including acute care and long-term acute care hospitals as well as skilled nursing facilities.

Dr. Harinath is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endos-copy (ASGE), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and Crohn's Colitis Foundation (CCF).

Dr. Harinath Sheela has served as the Chairman at Florida Hospital's Department of Gastroenterology. He is also an active member of the Orange County Medical Society and sits on it’s Board of Directors. In addition to being an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida School of Medicine, he is also a teaching attending physician at both the Florida Hospital Internal Medicine Residency and Family Practice Residence (MD and DO) programs. Dr. Harinath is a contributing writer for Orlando Medical News, Insight Magazine, Spanish Magazine Tu Revista Mujer and the Healthy Advice session from Or-lando Sentinel.
